Inverters are the the part of the solar system that convert the DC electricity that solar panels produce into AC electricity that your home uses and can then be put back on the grid. There are two main types of inverters, string inverters and microinverters. String inverters are currently more cost effective than microinverters. String inverters work by connecting several panels into one "string" and then connecting the whole string to one string inverter, which then turns the DC electricity from those panels into AC electricity for your use. Due to the cost effectiveness of string inverters we use them in all of our systems, allowing us to pass those savings on to you. Our inverters come with a 10 year manufacturer's warranty.
Canadian Solar Panels
For most of our solar jobs we use either Itek panels made in Bellingham Washington, or Canadian Solar panels produced in Canada. Both types of panels are built to withstand extreme weather and require little to no maintenance. Panels are built to withstand 110 MPH winds, and significant snow build up. The panels have slightly different looks, with Canadian Solar panels being completely black while Itek panels have a silver grid design. Both manufacturers back their panels with a 25 year warranty.
